What happens if you flip the worst trading strategy? In 25 of 30 cases, simply holding beats the flipped version too
If a strategy is almost always wrong, doing the opposite sounds like a winning strategy. Tested on the three weakest daily strategies on the platform and ten large coins since 2017: the flipped version beats buy and hold in 5 of 30 cases. A bad strategy rarely has a wrong signal. It usually has an arbitrary one, plus fees, and flipping keeps the fees. Two numbers tell you beforehand whether flipping can work at all.
A Backtest Parameter You Never Set Moves Your Return by up to 12 Points a Year
A backtest has more parameters than the strategy description lists. The start day of a 3-day candle grid alone moves annual return by 6.66 points on average. What that means for every interval comparison, and the three questions that make the effect visible.
Why the same strategy crushes crypto and bombs the S&P 500
We ran the same RSI/SMA crossover across the top 50 coins and the top 50 US stocks — identical rules, identical window. On crypto it beats the buy-and-hold benchmark 80 % of the time; on stocks, 4 %. Why a trend-following strategy works in one market and bleeds in the other.
Bollinger Bands + RSI is live — the strict mean-reversion play
A new strategy is live: BB+RSI combines two classics into a strict mean-reversion setup. BUY only when price is at the lower Bollinger band AND RSI is oversold — two conditions, fewer false signals. Pro+.
New Strategy: BTC Signal — RSI/SMA for Altcoins
A new strategy for altcoins is live: trade any alt with RSI(14) / SMA(14) computed on BTC/USDT instead of on the alt itself. The idea: BTC is the bellwether — when the macro regime is on, trade alts; when it isn't, get out.
RSI: The Most Popular Indicator in Crypto. Does It Work?
RSI is the most popular indicator in crypto trading. But does the classic "oversold = buy" logic actually work? We ran the numbers — and the results show: without a trend filter, RSI is a trap. With the right setup, it becomes a real strategy.
Buying Altcoins Without a Strategy? Just Buy Bitcoin Instead.
**What 269 Binance USDT pairs over 8 years reveal about the honest reality of crypto investing — and why most altcoin holders are playing a game they statistically cannot win.**
The Bitcoin Filter That Flips 88 % of Top-50 Alts into the Green
34 of 50 top-50 alts have lost money on average across every entry point — measured in USD. One strategy flips that. It doesn't look at the alt. It looks at BTC.
When a Crypto Strategy fails completely on US Stocks
An honest story from our bulk backtests.
When You Measure Alts in BTC, Bear is the Baseline
We tested our RSI/SMA strategy on 77 actively trading Binance BTC-pairs (XAUT and WBTC excluded). 92% of them lost against BTC over 8 years. The strategy still beats Buy & Hold on 88% of pairs — through getting out, not through outperformance.
What the Top 50 Coins Won't Show You About the Altcoin Market
We ran our RSI/SMA strategy across the entire Binance USDT spot universe — 269 assets instead of 50. The picture that emerges is uncomfortable.
When RSI Drops Below 30 on Bitcoin — What 29 Signals Since 2015 Actually Tell Us
"RSI below 30 means oversold" is one of the most repeated phrases in trading education. The implied promise: when it triggers, a bounce is coming. Buy the dip.
