Methodology
▼
What is measured
Per pair, the ratio of daily closes ALT/USDT ÷ BTC/USDT. Strength is that ratio's return over 30 days — positive means the coin beat Bitcoin, whatever the dollar did. The state (uptrending/basing/downtrending) follows the locked definition: uptrending = ratio above SMA50 and SMA50 above SMA200; downtrending mirrored; basing otherwise (definition 4f06fe859b8b8751).
Why this is not a signal
The picture shows what sits on top — not what follows. Measured across all days since 2017, the “uptrending” state sat below the base rate at every horizon; the base rate itself is the number that holds, and it is negative. The box next to the chart carries the values; the Knowledge Object carries the full measurement including robustness arms.
