Fourteen Januaries — is that a pattern or a sample?
The monthly returns heatmap and the yearly lows: count the rows — that is how many Januaries there were. A monthly average rests on that many cases, and a few extreme years carry it. Seasonality is a small sample with a memory, not a rule.
